JUNE 2023 RECAP // NEW PARTNERS & COLLABORATORS!
We have to admit – June was a wild month. Nearly everyone in the rescue community, including us, happened to be dealing with the most challenging projects, life obstacles and the unfortunate loss of both pets and foster cats.

Amidst the chaos though, we had some beautiful successes! Let’s take a moment to reflect on some GOOD news from June 😻
First up: Good Cat Network has a new Seattle-based rescue partner: The NOAH Center!

Another partner of ours graciously assisted us in our first The NOAH Center transfer (and with many other projects and tasks since our inception!): Feline Friends of Sammamish. Max Pau personally drove to Aloha Air Cargo at the Seattle International Airport, picked up our Good Cat Network cats and drove them to The NOAH Center.

Thankfully, they’re on board to help us transport cats from the airport to The NOAH in the next few transfers!

June also brought us two new collaborators! The first is Hollie Bearden, founder of Rusty Maui Cat Collective, a brand new non-profit dedicated to Maui’s community cats.

Hollie rescued some kitties at a Wailea, Hawai’i colony and fostered them until they were ready to be adopted. Our non-profit partner, Honi Honi Cats Maui, connected with Hollie and helped her by teaching her the fostering and flight requirements, and ultimately, most of Hollie’s flew to our transfer partners in June.

Another new collaborator is team Laurie and Shelley, who help manage TNR at a central Maui colony. We’re collaborating with them by helping them connect with transfer partners and educating them on the flight requirements, and they’re working together to fund cargo and in-cabin flights for the cats that they are so lovingly rescued and fostered.

They sent a little kitty named Buddy via Alaska Airlines (Cargo)  in June, and he was adopted right away. This week, we’ll be collaborating with them again and The Critter Room to send more lucky Good Cats on our very first in-cabin flight!

So, to recap: 31 cats, three flights and we’re expanding this amazing Good Cat Team. June might have had some challenges, but overall, it was a wonderful month for the 31 cats that found their loving homes in Washington state – and a bright spot for the team of compassionate people that made it happen 💗
