Operation Aloha Cat Flight #55 Powered by Maui Off Road Adventures

Maui Off-Road Adventures was one of Good Cat Network’s biggest supporters last year with a total donation of $5,635.00! This was achieved during the months of November and December, where a portion of their ticket sales were collected for Good Cat Network.

They partnered with Pu’u Kukui Watershed Preserve and offer an Ultimate Adventure Tour which offers one of the most amazing ATV riding experiences ever combined with the experience of helping reforest the land by planting a tree on every tour: a total immersion into Hawaiian culture and pristine nature.

So, not only were they helping protect Maui’s fragile ecosystem by their support of Good Cat Network, flying cats off island to a better life…they are enriching the ecosystem, too, with the reforestation during their tours! That’s a WIN-WIN-WIN if we ever heard one!

Back in 2022, Rita, resident of Makawao and Good Cat Network’s Executive Director Darlene’s mother-in-law, noticed a momma cat and kittens on her property and knew she needed to spring into action. She successfully TNR’ed the momma cat, whom she named Lucy, and sent the kittens over to Darlene’s for socializing.

Brother kittens Charlie and Ricky and were quickly socialized and ready for adoption. Because the Operation Aloha Cat flights were full for several months, Darlene advertised the kittens to the local community via the Facebook Group Maui Cat Coalition, which is how the serendipitous meeting took place: Maui Off-Road Adventures VP of Operations, Jesse and his wife Amy requested to meet the Good Cat Network foster kittens! A few days later Jesse and Amy met the kittens and the adoption was finalized. Charlie and Ricky are now living their best indoor Maui kitty life.

Every year, Maui Off-Road Adventures choses a non-profit to support during giving season, and we’re so grateful that they chose Good Cat Network for 2023!

To commemorate their incredible donation and support, Operation Aloha Cat flight #55 where sixteen lucky, good cats flew to Seattle Humane, was named after Maui Off-Road Adventures. Jesse came to the airport to give them a heartwarming send-off and meet Honi Honi Cats Maui and some of the other volunteers that make it all happen.
