Good Cat Network’s, monthly no-cost spay and neuter clinic Have A Nice Spay provided over 1000 sterilizations in 2025 and we’re going to strive for over 2000 this year.
Online appointments for pet cats are available through our Have A Nice Spay Clinic Rules page, here.
For the second year in a row, Good Cat Network has been awarded the John R. Peterson Hawaiʻi Sterilization Initiative Grant which is intended to benefit vulnerable and underserved communities of Hawaiʻi, a $10,000 grant from Neighborhood Cats, $10,000 from local supporters Gary Thompson and Sara Patton, a donated anesthesia machine from Maui Humane Society, and surgical tools from Aloha Veterinary Care in support of Have A Nice Spay.
HVHQSN (high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter) veterinarians are flown in, sometimes from out of state, to perform the surgeries at the clinics. A highly skilled support staff and volunteers round out the high-performing, passionate team for Have A Nice Spay.
In addition to sterilization, all cats receive microchip, FVRCP vaccinations from Petco Love‘s Vaccinated and Loved program, flea and deworming treatment curtesy of an anonymous donor, and an ear-tip to indicate the alteration.
Because collaboration with other non-profits proved to make our transfer program, Operation Aloha Cat, a huge success, Good Cat Network has partnered with local non-profits for its Have A Nice Spay program for assistance in logistics, coordination, to assist with community cat trapping, and education regarding spay and neuter, trapping, and volunteerism.
Local non-profit partners The Rusty MauiCat Collective, Kitty Charm Farm, and Surf Cat Ranch organize trapping teams who are trained to assist those in the community who are financially unable to address their growing backyard and colony cat populations.
New 2026 non-profit partner Aloha FurEver Pets Foundation is assisting in community education in spay and neuter and volunteerism. Through this partnership, they are also facilitating logistics of Good Cat Network’s spay and neuter medical equipment as well as other on-island coordination for Petfix, a Hawaiʻi Island spay and neuter non-profit who is coming to Maui to host dog spay and neuter clinics.
Have A Nice Spay will run through 2026 offering monthly clinics with a goal of sterilizing 2000 cats. Good Cat Network is dedicated to expanding partnerships and collaborative efforts with local non profits to increase access to spay and neuter services to all.
If you run an organization and would like to partner, if you have access to funding, would like to volunteer, or have a commercial location you would like to donate to us so we can offer these services to the community more often than once a month, please contact us here: Yes!
